
Fae
჻ Alseid: A small faerie with dark green skin and dragonfly-like wings. Often takes on a guardian role and tends to be fiercely protective.

჻ Centaur: A great beast with the lower half of a horse, and the upper half of a human. Centaurs are known to be ruthless hunters and do so primarily for sport.
​
჻ Changeling: Faeries that are swapped into a child's crib, taking their place as the infant is whisked away to the Fae realm. In traditional lore, it is often an aged or sickly faerie that is left for the human family to find.
჻ Dryad: A female faerie said to be the spirit of the tree she is attached to.
​
჻ Gancanagh: Also known as "Love Talkers," these handsome male faeries are known for seducing human women and draws them into a lovesick sort of madness. They are often depicted smoking a pipe and surrounded by a fine mist, and it is said that they cast no shadow.
​
჻ Grig: A small faerie with a sprite-like upper body and the lower body of a cricket.
​
჻ Gwyllion: Dark faeries who haunt woodland trails and remote roads, whose whispers are powerful enough to lead travelers to stray from the path and become lost.
​
჻ Hob: Small, wizened faeries who are traditionally skilled in farming and household chores due to their hardworking nature and disproportionate strength. In some legends, they are also adept in looking after the health of children.
჻ Mare: Black, skeletal horse-like faeries said to bring nightmares to unsuspecting victims while they sleep.
​
჻ Morgen: Water faeries known to lure lost souls to drown in the sea.
჻ Pixie: Winged faeries, larger than sprites with a more human appearance; often with green skin.
჻ Púca: Mischievous faeries known for their quick wit and clever wordplay. In traditional lore, they are often depicted as small, furry creatures. They are notorious tricksters who thrive on chaos and revel in their ability to outsmart others. Púca are also talented shapeshifters, and can cast strong glamours on objects and other beings as well.
჻ Redcap: Brutish, blood-hungry faeries with sturdy statures and long, burly arms.
჻ Satyr: A faerie with a human-like upper body, and the legs of a goat. Males often have curved horns. They are known for their love of dancing and drinking in excess.
჻ Sidhe: Ethereal, spirit-like faeries who sometimes appear as little more than a cloud of glitter when passing through direct light.
჻ Spriggan: Very large male faeries who more closely resemble old-growth trees than sentient beings, with skin like bark and limbs more akin to branches.

჻ Sprite: A faerie not more than 8-10 inches tall, with upturned, pinched features and orb-like black eyes. Sprites are swift and intelligent, and are often found in the employ of the Fae who use them as information gatherers in exchange for shiny trinkets.
​
჻ Sylph: Faeries similar in size and appearance to sprites, but with translucent wings.
​
჻ Tuatha Dé Danann: The first Fae race, known as the Light Bringers for the magic they possess. Their kind has disappeared from Wyldraíocht over time, with the last of them being the Silver Saints. The Silver Saints--Merak--once guided the formation of the Seelie and Unseelie Courts and as such, are known well amongst Fae gentry. To the Solitary Fae, who were removed from the court formation process, the Silver Saints have become more legend than known fact.

჻ Wisp: The echo of a faerie's magic, the part of them that is left behind when they die. Wisps are not known to be sentient, and are often kept in glass jars to use as nightlights.​​
Locations
჻ Wyldraíocht: The Fae realm, known to Aisling and her mother as "the Wild." It is parallel to the human realm, though much older. It is reached through Thin Places--hidden locations where the Veil is penetrable.
჻ Unseelie Territory: Includes the dominions of Nyctara, Ilindor, Astraloris, and Veladryn, among others.

჻ The Cut: The Unseelie place of worship; a natural clearcut in the forest where no trees grow. Runic inscriptions are carved into the ground, and an altar of branches stands at the front.
​
჻ Talamarís: A forest enclave not far from the Undercastle where the Unseelie dead are laid to rest. They believe in the importance of allowing the body to return to the earth, giving back to the forest that has given so much to them.
​
჻ The Undercastle: The heart of the Unseelie Court--a below-ground structure which is partially formed of a network of natural caverns, and partially hand-hewn by faeries over countless centuries.
჻ Seelie territory: Includes the dominion of Taliesin, among others.
​
჻ Solanthis: The Seelie temple of worship, located high on a mountain peak where the air is thinnest, so that their prayers may be better heard by Aethar.
჻ Elowas: The god realm. Once a beautiful place where the gods existed in peace and created the first Fae race, Elowas is now half-collapsed and corrupted by darkness.

჻ Antiata: The Enclave; the one safe haven left in Elowas. Antiata is anchored by a towering oak and protected by a ring of rowan trees who harbor the aneiydh of lesser gods who gave their lives for Orist. A great stone cairn provides shelter and tells the history of the realm through an ancient, painted mural.
Religion
჻ Aethar: The god worshipped by the Seelie Court, depicted as an almost angelic figure and wreathed in bright sunlight.​
჻ The Low One: The dark god worshipped by the Unseelie Court. Called on by the High Prelate, the Low One maintains a connection to his worshippers through the shadow magic of the Unseelie King.
​჻ Prelate: Students and stewards of the Unseelie religion. The High Prelate is considered a conduit for the Low One's will, and leads religious rites and rituals.
Magic
჻ Divine Magic: Magic gifted by a god once in a generation, which determines the Fae Court royals. It follows no rules or family lines.
჻ Inherent Magic: Magic that one is born with.

჻ Athrealain: Physical magic; the magic of change (literally translated "change art"). Enhancing, dampening, and manipulating the physical world. Ranges from temporary changes to existing states, such as heating water to healing, the physical manipulation of the body. Also includes casting glamours.
​
჻ Drinealain: Mental magic; the magic of beguiling (literally translated "manipulation art"). Users with the strongest form of this compulsory magic can speak into the minds of others. It is often directly tied to Athrealain - for example, the user might cast a glamour then manipulate others to believe it. The human affinity is a distant derivative of Drinealain.

჻ Gweldealain: Temporal magic; the magic of sight (literally translated "seeing art"). Includes Far Sight and its lesser forms, including divining.
​
჻ Saothrealain: Weaving magic; the magic of Creation (literally translated "fabrication art"). Weavers draw from the threads of magic and energy that make up the world around them and shape the threads into objects or incorporate them into others. This is the rarest form of inherent magic, as it was bred out over time when Weavers began to Create artifacts that were too powerful.

჻ Learned Magic: Magic that is learned and honed over time by its practitioners.
​
​჻ Rhedelas: Rune casting and evocation--mostly tied to religion and worship, Rhedelas can bond its user to those with Divine Magic.
​
​჻ Sangelas: Blood magic--dangerous and unpredictable, there have been no true masters of Sangelas for centuries. Though it is not inherent, there are some with more innate talent for it than others.
​
჻ Seren: A form of magic long since lost to time, having belonged to the Tuatha Dé Danann. Seren manifests as flames of pure white.​
